We take the lead!

After a strong first period, the Leafs were in penalty trouble in the second and despite not allowing a goal they were in need of regaining the momentum some way early in the third period.

That is exactly what Clarke MacArthur did scoring just 1:36 into the third period. After taking a pass from Nikolai Kulemin, MacArthur made a nice dangle around Jaroslav Spacek and he backhanded home his first goal of the season and first wearing the Blue and White.

The Canadiens fought back but couldnt break down Giguere. Thanks to him we stayed in the game. here is link to highlights of the game.

The final score was 3-2 Leafs

Dion Phaneuf for captain

If anyone has thoughts on this topic please post. Personally I think hes a great player and deserves captain of the leafs. Hopefully hes what we were missing and we will get the Stanley Cup this year. The Leafs liked Phaneuf's communication skills and also felt he had the set of traits that they wanted in a team captain. Head coach Ron Wilson made it official by giving him the C on Monday afternoon.
